From classic singer/songwriter pop to traditional Hebrew songs of worship, Steve’s music catalog spans a diverse array of genres and decades.
During the vibrant musical landscape of the 1980s, Steve found himself entrenched in the iconic LA music scene. His recordings were featured in cult classic films of the era such as “Malibu High,” “The Great Skycopter Rescue,” and “Social Suicide”.
Notably, “Social Suicide” showcased the final recordings of singer/actor Trini Lopez, who lent his talent to the title track penned by Steve Myland and Roger Bellon (the composer renowned for his work on “Highlander” and “Falcon Crest”). The track also featured members of Madonna’s backup band, who happened to be in the studio when the track was being recorded.
An intriguing anecdote adds to Steve’s legacy: in recent years, director Eli Roth personally sought out Myland’s early music to include in a special gift for Quentin Tarantino. Apparently, Tarantino held a fondness for “Lovely But Deadly,” one of Steve’s tracks featured in the film “Malibu High.”
With multiple CDs and collaborative ventures under his belt, Steve’s expansive repertoire can be explored further.
